Curtain Hardware

Curtain Hardware can be divided into many categories and many different sections, often consultants will refer to curtain tracks or rods as curtain hardware. Generally speaking as a consultant I would refer to the curtain hardware as being the items that we use to install and make the window covering functional. This can come in many varities and forms.

One thing that is common with all curtain hardware that it is primarily used to ensure that the curtain operates correctly, ie a curtain track that is cord operated or a special hook that is used to tieback the curtains. Other pieces that can be used are special decorative rods or special shaped brass rods that enable the drapes to be drawn around a corner window. Hooks that hold the curtain onto the rail or even special weights sewn into the bottom of the existing curtains or sheers.

When decorating a home or individual window it is the overall effect that you are trying to introduce into the area that can present a challenge in itself, with the ever changing shape and sizes of modern windows curtain hardware is now more important as an overall factor in many house I challenge – remember when decorating keep it simple and dont over complicate the window with too many applications of different coverings

Many consultants agree that because of the large variety curtain hardware that is now available on today market , we are able to achieve many looks that although were always possible they are now fully functional window decorations. Many items contribute to completing the ultimate look on a window and it is definately only possible when all items come togeather in the form of special curtain hardware

Many windows now require specialised treatments because of their size and overall drop in height, with ever expanding houses, manufacturers are continually looking at ways of incorporating stability into their curtainhardware in all aspects of decoration and design
